Last weekend I tried to install some updates for Windows Vista on my home laptop. The service pack 2 kept giving me an error. In the meantime all of my Office programs stopped working. Whether the two were related I don't know. But I suspect they were. After many hours and much online research I finally had to reinstall Windows to get rid of corrupt files. I finished that Wednesday but it still did not solve my Office problem (the bigger issue).
So last night I tried to uninstall Office 2007 to reinstall it. It wouldn't let me. After more research and time I found a "fix me" from Microsoft that was able to uninstall it. I then reinstalled Office and now my computer seems to be working correctly.
So take that Microsoft!!
