New Floors!

Well after having the flooring for several weeks Shawn finished his exams and was able to start putting it down. Saturday we started deconstruction and Sunday my parents came to help us start laying the floor. By Thursday he was mostly done and we could start cleaning and moving furniture back. Here is one of the 3 holes Grady and Abbie had shredded in the carpet causing the need for new floors.

Grady hated not being in the thick of things. He spent a lot of time pouting at the bottom of the stairs. Luckily he still hasn't figured out he could jump over the gate if he wanted.

This is all of our furniture smushed into the dining room. Half way through we had to move it all to the foyer.

Shawn and my dad working on the first few pieces. This was the hardest area because it had the bathroom and the closet.

I had to fill the wholes in the concrete where the tack strip had been nail in and made a big dent when we pulled the out (oh the joys of a slab foundation)

The toilet was on the front porch for awhile. Then it was in the living room while we waited for the plumber to come get the wrench out of the pipe.

The foyer got finished the second day and it looked great!

Grady and Abbie had to come in the study with me for awhile to stay out of Shawn's hair and both of them took up residence by the door until I let them out.

The dining room in the process of being put back together. No more linoleum or carpet downstairs!!!

The kitchen (which is a mess because Shawn is baking cookies and I am baking bread)

The family room from the stairs with the new lamps and new curtains and new rug.

Now all that is left is to put in the quarter round which Shawn will work on after we get back from Christmas travels and I have to head back to work. Tomorrow it is off to the Midwest to see family and friends. We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Years!!
