Our flood

On Thursday after I got home from work we had yet another thunderstorm roll through. This one brought down pours for quite some time. We always have a stream through our yard when it rains but this one takes the cake.

The water normally just barely touches the bed around this tree when we get a heavy rain. Here you can't even see the landscaping blocks.


All of our neighbors yards flow into ours and normally there is a small puddle along the low spot on this side of the yard. This time the water rose all along the fence and was pouring in to our yard between the boards on the fence.


The water came up another foot or so past this picture and then the rain finally let up and the water started to go down. This is the highest we have ever seen it flood our yard. Hopefully it is the highest we ever see it in the future too!
